American History Tour
"Give Me Liberty" Sights and Stories from the Founding of America and More! 14 day tour - September 30, 2027Information
Our American History tour received an overwhelming response in 2026 for America’s 250th. This is Glenn’s passion, and he has asked us to offer it again, believing that every American, young and old, should see these places, hear these stories, and be immersed in a patriotic love of country. It is time for a renewal!
Glenn Rawson Loves American History!
He is excited to share it with you. From Boston to Williamsburg and from John Adams of Boston to George Washington of Virginia, he will immerse you in the people and places that created the United States of America. It will be your opportunity to stand in the actual room where the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were drafted and passed, and later to see up close those original signed documents. Oh, the stories behind those signatures! It is one thing to hear a lecture about America’s Founding, but to see and walk where it actually happened is another matter entirely.
Here is a small taste of what you will be experiencing:
- Boston Area: We will walk the Freedom Trail, see Old North Church, Paul Revere House, and visit John Adams home and library, Plymouth Rock and Plantation, Mayflower II, Lexington, and the Old North Bridge at Concord.
- Philadelphia Area: We will visit Independence Hall, see the Declaration House and Liberty Bell, the American Revolution Museum, the National Constitution Center, the Crossing of the Delaware, and Gettysburg.
- Baltimore Area: We will walk through the original Fort McHenry and see where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the Star-Spangled Banner during the War of 1812.
- Washington, D.C.: There is so much to experience—The National Archives and the originals of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, George Washington’s cherished mountain home, Mt. Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the War Memorials, the Smithsonian, the Washington Mall, and the United States Capitol Building.
- Charlottesville: We see and walk through the homes of Thomas Jefferson (Monticello) and James and Dolly Madison (Montpelier). You will learn much about these men as you see their beautiful homes.
- Richmond: A particularly moving experience is to sit in the pews at Old St. John’s Church and experience where Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death” speech was given, and then to learn the rest of the story.
- Williamsburg: We will see and walk through Yorktown (end of the American Revolution). The old Colonial Statehouse, where Virginia raised up and rallied to support Massachusetts against England. The Raleigh Tavern, where self-government in America began, and the Royal Government ran away.
