“Your Bucket-List is Calling”

The 2030 Oberammergau Passion Play is the 43rd season of the world-famous, once-in-a-decade
theatrical event held in the small Bavarian village of Oberammergau, Germany.

The Passion Play is a monumental, centuries-old tradition in Bavaria, Germany, that began with a solemn vow villagers made in 1633 to stage the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ every ten years if God spared them from the bubonic plague. True to that pledge, the epic production has been performed for nearly 400 years, featuring a massive cast of over 2,000 actors, singers, and musicians, all strictly local residents of the village. Staged in an enormous open-air theater over several hours, this once-a-decade spectacle draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe and stands as one of the most famous and enduring religious performances in history.
