The Stunning Philippines
Stunning could be an understatement when it comes to the beauty of many of the Philippine islands. There are over 7,000 islands that make up the Philippines, don’t worry, we are not going to try and see them all. We have hand-picked some of the best to see and experience. We use 4-Star and 5-Star Luxury Beach Resorts as our base. From there we can visit other islands or go inland for our tours. The time of year that we have scheduled the tour is during the dry season, with temperatures averaging around 83 degrees, and the water is usually a comfortable 80 to 82 degrees.
Here are a few of the many highlights:
- Beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, colorful sea life!
- Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park encompasses one of the world’s most impressive cave systems, featuring spectacular limestone karst landscapes, pristine natural beauty, and intact old-growth forests, and distinctive wildlife.
- Swimming with whale sharks. They are gentle giants that can reach upwards of 40 feet long. Although whale sharks are the third biggest creature in the ocean (after blue whales and fin whales) they are not aggressive and don’t threaten humans. Their interactions with humans are peaceful and curious.
- The rock formations in the islands near El Nido. We spend three days in the area – boating, swimming and snorkeling, along with kayaking for those that want to kayak.
- Bohol chocolate mounds, a stunning natural wonder.
- Boating on fun outrigger boats between the islands.
- 4 and 5-Star Luxury Beach Resorts with wonderful swimming pools and tropical landscaping.
- Private Island Resort on the small Miniloc Island near El Nido.
- Yes, we have to include our guest educator Michael Wilcox as one of the many highlights.
- Singapore. Everyone who has ever been there has loved it as one of the great cities in the world.
- Fly the #2 Airline in the world – Singapore Air.

Itinerary
Day by Day Itinerary (Itinerary is subject to change):
Day 1: February 28: Fly to Cebu, Philippines
We depart our home and travel to Cebu, Philippines.
Day 2: March 1: USA/Cebu
Cross the International Date Line – lose a day.
Day 3: March 2: Cebu
We will arrive into Cebu this afternoon. After going through customs, we plan to do a short city tour (time permitting) before heading to the hotel. (Transfers are included if you booked our group airfare or your flight arrives on or before and departs on or after our group flights.)
Day 4: March 3: Snorkeling – Cebu
Snorkeling and sightseeing boat ride. Today we will travel by boat to a marine sanctuary for some of the best snorkeling you will experience. In the afternoon we head south toward Oslob, where tomorrow we will enjoy snorkeling with the gentle giant Whale Sharks. We bought out a brand-new boutique hotel set on the cliffs overlooking the azure Camotes Sea. It is truly a combination of luxury and hospitality. From its restaurant, to its fresh water infinity pool to its wonderful beach that you reach by riding a glass elevator overlooking the ocean – you’re going to love it all. We will arrive early enough to enjoy your resort today.
Day 5: March 4: Swim with Whale Sharks
This morning we will drive to Oslob to swim with the Whale Sharks. Instead of driving the 5-plus hours back to Cebu, as originally scheduled, we will drive the short distance back to our wonderful beach resort to enjoy a free afternoon relaxing, walking the beach, or swimming.
Day 6: March 5: Island of Bohol
BIG change today. Originally, we were to take a ferry from Cebu City about 4 hours away to the island of Bohol. Instead, we will enjoy our hotel and then take large private chartered boats with our luggage directly from our beach resort to our beach resort on Bohol Island. Overall, we have cut out 6 hours of driving, waiting for ferries, waiting for luggage along with transfers. You will even have time this afternoon to explore and enjoy your new beach resort on the island of Bohol.
Day 7: March 6: Bohol
Today we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bohol which includes visits to the fabulous Chocolate Hills, grass-covered limestone domes that are nearly symmetrical in shape and height. We also stop at the Tarsier Sanctuary and the Baclayon Church, one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. We also enjoy a scenic drive through the canopy of red and green mahogany trees planted as part of the reforestation project. A highlight will be our special lunch with entertainment as we float down the river on a large barge. Later in the afternoon you will return to enjoy your beach resort that has one of the best beaches in all of the island of Bohol.
Day 8: March 7: El Nido – Miniloc Island – Stunning Beach Resort
Originally, we were going to take a ferry back to Cebu City and then fly to Puerto Princesa. But, after finding out there is a flight from Bohol to El Nido, we bought out most of the plane for our group and switched our itinerary from doing Puerto Princesa first, to doing El Nido first. This saved everyone about 6 hours of busing, waiting for ferries and luggage. After arriving in El Nido, we will take a ferry to our private beach resort on Miniloc Island. This is one of the BEST beach resorts the owners of Fun For Less Tours have ever stayed in. You’re going to love it. We will be here for the next three nights.
Day 9 & 10: March 8 & 9: Miniloc Island Resort – El Nido
Over the next two days you will have opportunities to enjoy boating on catamaran boats to experience the best of El Nido’s aquatic wonders. The boating is a great experience all on its own. Some people enjoy snorkeling and swimming at some of the islands, while others just want to enjoy the beautiful stunning scenery as we boat from island to island At our island resort, there is kayaking, swimming in both the pool or the crystal clear lagoon at your beach resort. Your resort also has free snorkel equipment for those that would like to snorkel.
Day 11: March 10: El Nido – Puerto Princesa
Today we will travel through the island of Palawan. It is a beautiful drive. With our stops it will take most of the day to reach Puerto Princesa. We will visit a fort and enjoy a program presented by an indigenous tribe that will walk over two hours out of the jungle to meet our group and put on a Tribal performance. We overnight at a wonderful beach resort in Puerto Princesa.
Day 12: March 11: Puerto Princesea
This morning we will take a short walk to the port where we will board the boats that will take us to the entrance of the St. Paul Underground River. Our guided boat tour takes us deep into the cavern where we can see a variety of geological formations. After a day in the area, we will return to our beach resort.
Day 13: March 12: Manila
This morning we will transfer to the airport, where we will fly to Manila. There will be some time for a short afternoon tour in Manila. Overnight 5-star Luxury Hotel in Manila.
Day 14: March 13: Manila
Today will be a full-day tour of all the important sites in old and new Manila – before returning to your luxury hotel.
Day 15: March 14: Singapore
This morning we will fly to Singapore in the morning and then do a short tour of Singapore before heading to our 4-star deluxe hotel in Singapore. This flight is included if you are flying on our group flight with Singapore Air because they allow a stopover on your way back to the U.S. (The flight from Manila to Singapore is only included if you purchased the Fun For Less Tours group airfare. If you do your own airfare you must still purchase this flight to get to Singapore.)
Day 16: March 15: Fly home
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. We will transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (Transfers are included if you booked our group airfare or your flight arrives on or before and departs on or after our group flights.)
