Day 2: August 4: London
After our morning arrival, we will head to one of the homes of the Royal Family, Windsor Castle. You will have time to explore the Castle and the many shops around the castle. Then we will head to our hotel.  (Transfers are included if you booked our group airfare or your flight arrives on or before and departs on or after our group flights.)

Day 3: August 5: London
Today we will spend the day touring London.  Our tour includes the infamous Tower of London, a castle, a prison, and the most famous execution site in Europe.

Day 4: August 6: Stratford-Upon-Avon
This morning we will travel to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. You will have a chance to explore and enjoy dinner in a sidewalk cafe.

Day 5: August 7:  Southampton – Princess Cruise
This morning we will travel to Bath, known and named after the Roman Baths. It has become an elegant ancient town with neoclassical Palladian buildings that blend harmoniously with the Roman Baths.  Then we will drive to Southampton to board our beautiful ship.

Day 6: August 8: Day at Sea
Today we will have time to enjoy our beautiful ship and meet with Dr. S. Michael Wilcox for his presentation.

Day 7: August 9: Cork, Ireland
Optional Shore Excursion: Our shore excursion will include a stop at Blarney Castle. This is your chance to Kiss the Blarney Stone.

Day 8: August 10: Dublin, Ireland
Optional Shore Excursion: Just a little south of Dublin, we will visit the ancient Monastery of Glendalough. The history of Ireland is deeply intertwined with Christian Monasteries and the inspiring story of Saint Patrick. It would be difficult to imagine a setting more peaceful. You will have time to walk the ruins and sit by the lakes or walk the footpaths once trod by Irish monks whose labors saved much of Western Civilization during the dark centuries following the fall of Rome and the barbarian invasions that swept over Europe. We will then turn to Dublin to visit Trinity College, home of the Book of Kells, a beautifully illuminated manuscript of the New Testament and the greatest treasure of Ireland. We will also visit the Trinity Library, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.

Day 9: August 11: Belfast – Ireland Coast
Optional Shore Excursion: Today will be a highlight day! We begin with a drive up one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. At the top of the spectacular coastal drive, we will stop at the Giants Causeway, one of Europe’s most remarkable geological wonders. Then return to the ship.

Day 10: August 12: Glasgow – Stirling Castle
Optional Shore Excursion: Stirling Castle was built in the 14th and 15th Centuries; several Kings and Queens were crowned here, including Mary, Queen of Scotts, in 1543. We will also drive a little through the lower highlands. If time permits, we may do a small tour in Glasgow before returning to the ship.

Day 11: August 13: Fun Day at Sea
Today is a relaxing day to explore this fantastic ship.

Day 12: August 14: Orkney Islands
We will have an optional shore excursion today of Kirkwall. This area has great Viking history.

Day 13: August 15: Edinburgh
Optional Shore Excursion: We have an entire day to enjoy Edinburgh. We will have a morning tour of the city, including Edinburgh Castle. Sir Walter Scott created the mystique of the Scottish clans here, and there is a monument to this famous Scott. Edinburgh is also the city of Greyfriars Bobby and J.K. Rowling, who wrote Harry Potter from the upstairs window of a local pub. Before returning to the ship, you will enjoy Edinburgh Castle and have time to walk and explore the Royal Mile.

Day 14: August 16: Fun Day at Sea
Today is another relaxing day to explore this fantastic ship.

Day 15: August 17: Normandy Coast
Optional shore Excursion: This morning, we will tour the Normandy Landing Beaches, including Omaha Beach. We will also visit the American Cemetery before returning to the ship.

Day 16: August 18: Cornwall, England
Our optional shore excursion begins as you board your motorcoach at the pier. From Falmouth, you’ll travel alongside the River Fal and then stop for a photo opportunity at St. Michael’s Mount. Topped by a castle, this small granite island is only accessible by a narrow path exposed at low tide or by boat. Snap a photo from the shoreline near the sleepy village of Marazion.  The scenic route takes you through a peaceful countryside, past small villages, granite farmhouses and hedged fields, which give way to rolling downs as you approach Land’s End, England’s most westerly point.  The granite mass of Land’s End has been a landmark for seafarers for centuries. Snap a photo of Land’s End’s popular landmark, the famous signpost giving the mileage to New York and other points across the Atlantic Ocean.  Discover the Land’s End Peninsula Complex. This popular tourist attraction has something of interest for all ages, including a theater, shops and an amusement park. Walk down to the viewing platform to take in the breathtaking scenery of the rugged Cornish coastline.

Day 17: August 19: Southampton – London
This morning we will say goodbye to our beautiful floating Princess cruise ship in Southampton.  It has been great not to have to pack and unpack every day. On our way to London, we will visit ancient Stonehenge, the mysterious circle of stones that still carries the aura built into it over four thousand years ago. We will then head to our hotel.

Day 18: August 20: Fly Home
This morning we will drive to London Heathrow Airport to fly back to the US and home.  (Transfers are included if you booked our group airfare or your flight arrives on or before and departs on or after our group flights.)
