Our guest lecturer will give us insights to the Book of Mormon, the peoples past and present and the sites our group will visit. Stay in luxury as you see the most significant ruins in Central America. This fantastic tour includes all of the most important Ruins that date back to Book of Mormon time. Best of all we fly from Mexico City to Palenque and we fly from Tikal to Guatemala City. These two flights eliminate 4 grueling days of driving on bad roads plus 3 or 4 nights in hotels! No other tour can offer you so much in such a short time. Other tours can take 13 or 14 days to do what we do in 9 and they will charge over $3,000.

Here is a partial list of what you will see and experience:

Mexico City: The great ruins of Teotihuacán
Ruins of Palenque: considered by many as the best in Central America
Travel by boat on the Mayan Nile – considered by many to be the River Sidon
Ruins of Yaxchilan – possible candidate for the city of Zarahemla
Ruins of Tikal: Probably the most impressive ruins in Central America
Ruins of Kaminaijuyu: Prime candidate for the city of Nephi
Guatemala City: The once vast city of Nephi is perhaps the city that is buried beneath this capital.
Lake Atitlan: prime candidate for the “Waters of Mormon”.

Best of all this trip is affordable for everyone!

Our fabulous Book of Mormon Land Experience departs on a Friday and returns the following Saturday. Because we fly instead of having long grueling drives you are only away from work, school, (or most importantly) grandchildren for one week. Pricing at $1098* per person for the land portion, makes this wonderful tour affordable for everyone. This special tour can cost less than a cruise. By the time you pay for the cruise + port charges + taxes + shore excursions + transfers + airfare, you could have used the same money to experience and see it all in Central America. If the ship stopped every day you would be broke paying for shore excursions. We have no wasted days at sea and all of the tours, entrance fees, buses and guides are included in the price. Everyday is a breathtaking shore excursion!

Today we fly to Mexico City were the group will be transferred to our deluxe Hotel.

Day 2: March 10: Mexico City – Villahermosa
This morning we visit the incredible Mexico City Archeological Museum. We will then drive out of the city and tour the ruins of Teotihuacan with its Gigantic Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. We will then transfer to the Mexico City airport for our evening flight to Villahermosa (this flight saves us two grueling days of driving on bad roads). We will spend the night in Villahermosa.

Day 3: March 11: Villahermosa – Palenque
After breakfast we will visit the big heads of the Olmec exhibit then head inland to the ancient ruins of Palenque. This is a very special place not only because of its mountain location but for its sheer beauty and peaceful feel. This is one of the cities mentioned by Joseph Smith in a Times and Seasons article. We will spend the night just outside the park in our uniquely beautiful mountain jungle Hotel, be sure to bring your bathing suit for a swim in one of the three wonderful hotel pools.

Day 4: March 12: Usumacinta River – Yaxchilan – Tikal
After breakfast we will board our coaches for the Usumacinta River on the Mexico- Guatemala boarder. Here we will board tribal long boats for our journey down river to the ancient ruins of Yaxchilan – possible candidate for Zarahemla. Here, in the pristine Guatemalan rain forest, you may see and hear the famous Howler and spider monkeys high in the jungle canopy, crocodiles sunning on the river bank and evidence of a once vast, now lost, civilization that boggles the mind. We will then travel back up the river where we will cross over to the Guatemala side to board our Guatemalan buses for our drive to Tikal. We will spend the night at our luxury hotel on the shores of Lake Peten.

Day 5: March 13: Tikal
After breakfast we will depart for the ruins of Tikal. Tikal is the most impressive of all the restored ruins in Central America. Tikal is known as one of the most spiritually moving spots on earth. At it’s height in power the city covered over 72 square miles. After our tour we will return to our beautiful lake front hotel where you can swim or relax before dinner.

Day 6: March 14: Flores – Guatemala City
After breakfast we will check out of our hotel, board our coaches for the Flores Airport and our flight to Guatemala City. This afternoon we will begin our tour of the Capital City before checking into our fantastic Hotel for the final three nights of our tour.

Day 7: March 15: Guatemala City – Kaminaljuyu
After breakfast we will depart our hotel for the ancient ruins of Kaminaljuyu. This amazing site was excavated by the University of Pennsylvania. These ruins have been dated to early Book of Mormon times and reveal evidences that many believe make these ruins an excellent candidate for the first City of Nephi.

Day 8: March 16: Lake Atitlan
The Lonely Planet Guide calls Lake Atitlan “The closest thing to Eden on Earth.” The tour begins with an early morning departure for the highlands and the beautiful Lake Atitlan. The lake was created by a volcanic explosion that was three hundred times greater than that of Pompeii. We will take a spiritual and relaxing cruise through these pristine blue waters, which just may be the Waters of Mormon. At the conclusion of the cruise, time will be given to explore, shop and enjoy the Mayan culture of the lakeside villages. We will return to our Hotel in Guatemala City.

Day 9: March 17: Flight Home
Unfortunately even great things have to come to an end sometime. Today we transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
