Why do we all love to cruise: You only unpack once – all of the meals are included – fun nightly entertainment – quiet places to relax and read a book – wonderful ports of call and so much more. It’s time to step up to the next level – a fantastic “Land Cruise”. When you take a 5 star resort, locate it on one of the best beaches in the world, add the ameniities cruises offer – you end up with a vacation that is better than a cruise. We asked our staff which they would choose, a relaxing Caribbean Cruise or a relaxing Caribbean “Land Cruise” – 100% wanted the “Land Cruise”. Below is a comparison between a Caribbean cruise and a Caribbean “Land Cruise”.

Day to Day Itinerary
Note: (B-breakfast, L-lunch, D-dinner)
Day 1: June 23: Fly from US to Cancun
Upon arrival to Cancun we will depart for your “all inclusive“ beach hotel. You will have a free afternoon to relax and enjoy your beautiful beach resort. This resort has all the amenities you could hope for. All your food and beverages are included, unlike on a cruise ship where drinks are extra. Included with your hotel are Hobie Cat sailing lessons and free use of the sailing boat after your lessons, free introductory scuba lesson, free snorkeling gear, dance lessons, cooking classes, the list goes on. Large and beautiful swimming pools, stage shows at night, (an 18 hole championship golf course and motorized toys are extra). It has the most incredible private white sand beach and the second longest barrier reef in the world, excellent for snorkeling and scuba diving. These are your “Land Cruise Days at Sea”. Your hotel is located in the exclusive gated community of Playacar, just minutes to the seaside resort town of Playa Del Carmen.
Day 2: June 24: Optional tour to ruins of Tulum and Coba (B,L,D)
Today after breakfast we will offer our optional side tour to the ruins of Tulum and Coba. We will travel down the coast to the ancient Mayan City of Tulum. This beautiful walled city was built on cliffs overlooking the blue-green waters of the Yucatan Caribbean. Be sure to have the significance of the Descending God above the temple door explained to you and the special date evidenced by a solar event at this site. From here we will travel to ancient ruins deep in the Yucatan jungle at the Coba ruins. Only recently restored, these ruins will amaze and enthrall your senses. Our travels this day will end back at your beach hotel.
Day 3 & 4: June 25 & 26: Relax and enjoy Riu Resort or explore on your own (B,L,D)
Today is a free day to do whatever you want. You can shop next door in Playa del Carmen, or take the high speed ferry over to Cozumel (snorkeling, ruins, museum and shopping). You can visit Xcaret or Aukamul, or go cave diving in a nearby Cenote. Play golf or go horseback riding, deep sea fishing or parasailing. The list of activities is almost endless in this land of 1000 pyramids. Tomorrow you can do it all again, or simply loose yourself in a book on the beach under your favorite palm tree.
Day 5: June 27: Optional tour to ruins of Chichen Itza & Ek Balam (B,D)
Today after breakfast we will offer our optional side tour to the ruins of Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. We will drive to the park of Chichen Itza. The city of Chichen Itza is deep in the jungle and dates back to 100 BC.Chichen Itza which means “at the mouth of the well of Itza “, is the 2nd most visited archeological site of Mexico today. TheKukulkan Pyramid in Chichen-Itza which known as “El Castillo” (the castle), is one of the new seven wonders of the world. You will also have a chance to visit the ruins of Ek Balam. The startling and amazingly well-preserved sculptures uncovered at Ek Balam are exciting to both newcomers and repeat visitors of Mayan sites. Dating from 100 BC to its height at 700-1,200 BC, it is unlike any other Mayan site. Ek Balam has a feel all its own.
