Our tour begins at the birthplace of the prophet Joseph Smith in Sharon, Vermont. Then on to the LDS Church History sites around Palmyra. On our way to Kirtland we will stop at Niagara Falls where you will have time to ride the “Maid of the Mist” boat that takes you to the base of the falls. You will finish your church history tour by visiting the sites around Kirtland, Ohio. You then have an opportunity to visit the historical site of Gettysburg, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Ultimate LDS Church History Tour Itinerary:
Important Note: We have listed many of the important sites we will be experiencing on this special tour. This list should only be considered a partial list as our educators and escorts will add special experiences and sites not listed in our day by day itinerary.

Day 1:
Today we travel to New York City and overnight.

Day 2: Today you will enjoy the beautiful scenery as we drive through rural Massachusetts and Vermont. This is a beautiful area with small towns and true country lifestyle. We will make stops to take pictures along the way.

Day 3: Spend a full day in Sharon, VT with Dr. John Lund learning about the birthplace of the prophet Joseph Smith. This afternoon we will visit all the Church History sites in and around Sharon. One such site is the Joseph Smith Memorial in Sharon, Windsor County, Vermont. Joseph Smith was born here on December 23, 1805. In 1905 the LDS Church erected a 38.5-foot-high granite monument to commemorate the 38.5 years of his life. A full-time missionary couple live at the home.

Day 4:
Today we continue our sightseeing of the beautiful countryside as we travel through Vermont and upstate New York to Palmyra. We will spend part of the day touring the Palmyra area.


Day 5:
Full day visiting all of the Church History sites in Palmyra. Including: The Joseph Smith Sr. home, the Sacred Grove, the Hill Cumorah, the Grandin Printing Complex (where the first Books of Mormon were printed) and the Peter Whitmer farm in Fayette (where the Church was organized). This evening you will enjoy the famous Hill Cumorah Pageant.


Day 6:
This morning we start our drive to Kirtland, Ohio. On our way to Kirtland enjoy the majestic Niagara Falls. There will be plenty of free time to enjoy the falls and maybe even take a ride on the "Maid of the Mist" boat that takes you to the base of the falls. We will spend the night in Kirtland.


Day 7:
Today we have a full day visiting all of the important sites around Kirtland including: The Kirtland Temple, the Newel K. Whitney Store (school of the Prophets), the Morley Farm, the New LDS Visitor Center and more.


Day 8: Today we travel to Gettysburg where the pivotal battle of the Civil War was fought and where Abraham Lincoln gave his famous address on November 19, 1863. We will have a special Battlefield Tour Guide scheduled to ride with us on our bus and give us a very informative two hour tour while stopping at the famous battle sights, monuments and historical markers. We will then travel to the Washington D.C. LDS Temple Visitor Center and then to our hotel.

Day 9: During your stay in Washington D.C. we will visit Arlington Cemetery along with the Ford Theater where Abraham Lincoln was shot. This evening will be a tour highlight as we visit the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, FDR Memorial, Korean Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and the Washington Monuments at night.

Day 10: This will be your free day in Washington D.C. to visit the Smithsonian Museums at THE MALL.

Day 11: Early morning departure for Philadelphia and Liberty Square. Here you will see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Christ's Church, and other historical sites. In the afternoon we drive to the Philidelphia airport for your return flight home.
